On the Leatherman website I came upon a page – Survival Kit Essentials. Which sparked the awesome idea to head out into the winter woods and participate in a solo overnight 24 hours in the woods using minimal gear from Leathermans survival kit essentials. Equipped with a Leatherman SIGNAL, we made stakes, split Logs, gathered wood shavings for tinder, created feathersticks and used the ferro rod to create FIRE albeit with some difficulties. We created a survival shelter from emergency blankets and boiled water in a plastic bottle. And it rained.
