In this rabbit hunting guide, I’ll show you not only how to stone and snare rabbits, but also discuss rabbits as a food source and if it’s even worth going after them. Rabbits often attract the attention of new players due to their movement and appearance, but many lack the skills or understanding to hunt them down. That’s easily remedied! With little resource cost they can be stunned with a stone, or if you want to catch them passively you can find or craft snares to trap them while you’re out and about doing other things. Rabbits are a quick source of food, and relatively easy to acquire, but they do come with a major drawback: one of the worst calorie-to-weight ratios in the game. But does that make them unviable as a food source?
Due to their ease of access, rabbits are one of the best food sources in the game when viewed from a risk/reward viewpoint and also from resources spent to resources acquired viewpoint. They don’t carry the costs that hunting big game does, and they don’t require you to harvest them outdoors as you can just take them inside to warm them up! As long as you don’t overhunt an area, rabbits can keep you going for a long time!
